The STRUGGLE that you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.  Don’t give up.”  Robert Tew

For some of us, it seems like a STRUGGLE always comes before our dreams, desires, and wants actualize and manifest themselves.  Why is that?   Wouldn’t it be nice, if the things we wanted to come to fruition happened simply because we requested them?  That dream job, car, home, financial stability….POOF, it’s ours.  We all know that rarely happens because normally, we have to work hard for the things we have.  Hard things- STRUGGLES– are usually in front of the good things we want.  But oftentimes, we focus on the event-the STRUGGLE-instead of the lessons. Which actually delays our progress.  Does it seem like you are constantly in a STRUGGLE?  Can STRUGGLES benefit us? Do you believe that there are lessons in our STRUGGLES?  I DO!!!  So for this week’s blog, let’s talk SHIP about the importance of our STRUGGLES!!

Even though we know that nothing comes easy, we still try our best to avoid anything that resembles a STRUGGLE.  That’s a common and natural response.  Yet, all of us without exceptions will experience hardships and failures.  There will be times when we will STRUGGLE with many things in our lives-finances, careers, relationSHIPS, self-esteem, weight, professional life– and many other aspects.  However, STRUGGLES can also be viewed as being beneficial because they teach us so many invaluable lessons about ourselves.  They build our character.  They make us stronger and enable us to grow in virtually every aspect of our lives.  IF we are willing to stop looking at the hard thing-the STRUGGLE-and focus on the lessons that they are designed to teach us, we’ll receive great rewards.  But, what can our STRUGGLES teach us?

STRUGGLES teach us to be resourceful.  They teach us where there is a will, there is a way.  They make us explore alternative ideas and solutions to solve our situation when the obvious answers aren’t available. STRUGGLES teach us to accept those things that we are unable to control. STRUGGLES make us realize that even though everything on our “things-to-do list” is important, they don’t all have to be done at once.  STRUGGLES reveal who we are and what we are made of.  They teach us that we are strong and resilient.  They teach us our strengths and weaknesses.   STRUGGLES teach us that we are more than a conqueror.

It’s inevitable that all of us are going to experience some sort of STRUGGLES in our lives.  But it’s how we go through those STRUGGLES and how we bounce back from them that matters most. STRUGGLES are obstacles that can break us if we let them. But if we believe that GOD is working in our lives, that we can trust HIM, and that HIS strength is more than enough, then our STRUGGLES become nothing more than lessons.  GOD didn’t promise that we wouldn’t suffer in this life, but HIS word assures us that HE will be right by our side when we do.  So the next time you are facing a STRUGGLE, let go and let GOD. Don’t focus on the STRUGGLE, instead activate your faith and confidently focus on simply learning the lesson!!

  1. The most important lesson that I’ve learned from my struggles is that we need God! There are things that we cannot do on our own and sometimes the struggles are there because God is trying to get our attention.
