“In this life, we will never truly be apart, for we grew to the same beat of our Mother’s heart.”  Daphne Fandrich

Even though death is a part of life, it’s still hard to deal with.  Last week, my only and older brother Christopher passed away at 7:00 am on Labor day.  Although he had been hospitalized for 2 months, we were hopeful he would pull through, but he didn’t.   As I prepared for this week’s blog, I wanted to say so much about my brother but my thoughts were jumbled.  Yet, GOD ALWAYS has a ram in the bush and after reading my morning meditation from Daily Word, entitled “REMEMBRANCE” I knew it was GOD’s way of unjumbling my words.  So for this week’s blog, let’s talk SHIP about today’s meditation REMEMBRANCE!!!

You live in my heart.

Whether they have passed on recently or many years ago, the people for whom I have cared deeply are alive in my heart,  If I feel sad or lonely for those I miss, I pause to recall a special memory of something unique about them that made even ordinary days feel magical.

Reflecting on the love and joy we shared and the blessing their lives afforded me, I feel comforted.  I am thankful that these memories will always be mine to treasure.

I know that life does not end with death. Life is eternal, and my loved ones will always be beautiful, beloved expressions of Spirit.  I am grateful that those who have passed from this life experience continue to live in Spirit and are forever in my heart.

For the righteous will never be moved, they will be remembered forever.  Psalms 112:6.

Rest in love Christopher Durand Lathern, Brother you will forever be loved and will forever live on in our hearts.  Keep my family in your prayers.

SHIP TALK: Make sure you regularly visit your loved ones that are hospitalized or in skilled nursing facilities.  If they know that they have family, they will be forced to take better care of them.

  1. Thanks Desiree. I am still praying for you. I am glad this helped. When I read it yesterday, I knew it was GOD giving me words. Let’s keep each other in prayer..

  2. Thank you, this was right on time for me this morning. In the last 4 years I lost my Poppie, Mama, Brother & my Husband. It gives me comfort to know they live on in Spirit 🙌🏽, even tho I miss them so!
    Sorry for your loss Valerie
